EU technical assistance

Working inside institutional reform

My EU-funded project experience developed in technical-assistance environments where international experts, public institutions, contracting structures and fixed reporting requirements had to remain aligned.

As Project Coordinator, I supported implementation across market surveillance, consumer protection and bankruptcy and liquidation reform. The work included expert mobilisation, Terms of Reference, timesheets, missions, study visits, project meetings, deliverable follow-up and reporting packages.

This was not generic administration. It required an understanding of where each institution, expert and project document sat in the implementation structure, and the discipline to keep those parts moving without confusing coordination with technical or policy authority.

UN Women

A role that grew across functions

At UN Women, my formal administrative role developed into cross-functional operations and programme implementation support. Procurement, supplier maintenance, travel, events, assets, ICT, HR support, finance follow-up and office operations often met in the same working day.

The position also required coordination with programme colleagues, office leadership, regional functions, government counterparts, experts and delivery partners. I supported activities ranging from routine operational continuity to senior international visits and multi-stakeholder events.

The most useful part of that experience was learning how functions connect. A programme activity is also a supplier, travel, system, documentation and timing problem. Reliable delivery depends on seeing those dependencies early and keeping responsibility clear.

I am most useful when delivery crosses functions and somebody needs to understand both the purpose of the work and the operational detail required to move it forward.
